Specialty cable engineered for continuous motion and harsh environments

Drag chain, reeling, ROV and UAV tether constructions. Manufacturing in Shanghai since 2015. We design conductor, insulation, tensile and jacket layers around your duty cycle — not around a catalogue.

Product range

Six construction families covering the duty cycles that standard cable fails in.

Also available: Seawater-Resistant Cable — TPEE or PUR jacket with longitudinal water blocking.

Ordering terms

Standard constructions are stocked as extrusion runs, so a 100 m order carries the same lead time as a larger one. Custom constructions are quoted individually because a new extrusion run and type test may be required.

Jacket selection

Flex life is set by the jacket compound, not by the cable family. Both are available on the same conductor construction.

Neutral buoyancy cable, 300 / 500 V

For ROV, inspection-class vehicles and subsea tooling. Density below 0.98 g/cm³ keeps the cable near neutral in seawater; TPEE insulation and jacket resist hydrolysis and repeated flexing.

Common questions

Answering the points buyers raise before a first order.

What is the minimum order quantity for specialty cable?

The minimum order quantity is 100 metres, for both standard and custom constructions. There is no small-order penalty.

What is the lead time for a cable order?

Standard constructions ship in 5-7 days ex-works Shanghai. Custom constructions are quoted with their own lead time, because a new extrusion run and type test may be required.

Are CE and RoHS documents provided with the cable?

Yes. A CE declaration of conformity and RoHS test reports are issued with the shipment, together with inspection records and a packing list.

What is the difference between drag chain cable and reeling cable?

Drag chain cable is designed for linear reciprocating flexing inside a cable carrier and is optimised for bend life. Reeling cable is designed for winding onto a drum or reel, so it must also carry tensile load and resist torsion. Using one in the other's duty cycle is the most common cause of premature cable failure.

What is neutral buoyancy cable used for?

Neutral buoyancy cable is used on ROVs, inspection-class subsea vehicles and underwater tooling, where the weight of a standard cable would disturb vehicle trim. Density is held below 0.98 g/cm³ so the cable is close to neutrally buoyant in seawater. Rated 300/500 V, operating range -40 to +80 °C, minimum bend radius 8D fixed and 10D flexing.

What information is needed to quote a custom cable?

Duty cycle (drag chain, reeling, static subsea or tether), travel length or minimum bend radius, rated voltage, core count and cross-section, operating environment including oil, salt water, UV and temperature, and any tensile or buoyancy requirement.

What is the difference between NBR and PUR jacket?

Flex life is governed by the jacket compound. Nitrile (NBR) is rated for 3,000,000+ flex cycles over -15 to +70 °C; polyurethane (PUR) for 5,000,000+ cycles over -40 to +80 °C, with higher abrasion and oil resistance. Both jackets can be applied to the same conductor construction, so the choice is a duty-cycle decision rather than a separate product.

Do you manufacture to IEC or EN standards?

Constructions are built to customer specification under our enterprise standard, which is what allows 100 m runs of a non-catalogue design. Where a project calls for IEC or EN referenced construction, it is quoted against that reference and the test schedule is agreed before production. CE and RoHS documentation is issued with the shipment either way.
